Introducing – I Am A Man, You Are A Machine

I Am a Man, You Are a Machine” is a name circulating around Liverpool’s music scene lately and I’m left curious about this artist. His name is Dean Caffery and he is man behind I Am a Man, You Are a Machine, a one piece from Liverpool and he presents an astonishing new single “Erase Yourself”

First thoughts are “wow, he did this all by himself?” It seems hard to imagine that one person alone could create as amazing music as four or five people in a band but he actually pulls this off very nicely. The melody starts off very gentle and has an instant calming effect and leaves you in deep thought as it goes on. If you close your eyes and just listen to the music you are put into a state of relaxation. It made me instantly want to put it onto my IPod and go somewhere and chill out listening to it, maybe walking along a beach with the wind in your hair as you think calmly to yourself. Three minutes in and it really kicks in with a loud drum beat, by which time you’re so enticed into the beautiful melody you instantly move along with the beat. That’s the thing about this song; it draws you in and keeps you hooked until the end. With the simple repetitive vocal towards the end it sends a simple message whilst not drawing your attention away from the music.

I’m left at the end of the song thinking who is this guy and where did he come from? “Erase Yourself” feels like a breath of fresh air to the music scene, it really is something else. He’s grabbed people’s attention and we’re certainly listening. I just hope he continues to please us with his amazing talent.
